Lessor storms you can ride out, though you should still have emergency supplies. By the time Frances & Jeanne were through with Jacksonville, many people were without power for a week (I was lucky, only 45 minutes each time). We were on the outskirts of the storm and it still hammered us. Tropical storms and depressions can still spawn tornados. Bonnie didn't rain on us at all, but Jax was hit by a tornado.

Northern Virginia. Looks like I'll be moving to the Orlando-ish area for 3 months. Not sure when that'll be starting yet though, but it's safe to say I'll be there for at least part of hurricane season.
