In spite of an uncompromising antisemetic corporate America, I got a summer job.... YEY!

Obviously because I will not work on Shabbot-that ultimatley being my choice, the places I applied to work are racist . A buisness should go outside of its operating procedure to hire someone who can't do the job-of course.

Not really-when I hear people say this though it pisses me off...... If you can't or won't do the job, tough.

Got a job at an electronic store for the summer, 11 dollars an hour and unlike previous years I didn't have to apply at 50 places before I found someone that would not make me work on saturday..... YEY!

Imagine if your were a religious Muslim... how many places let you take off every Friday compared to every Saturday?

And Saturday is when most stores sell most of their stuff (people don't have work... or church [surprise most Americans are Christian]).

It's economics, not racism.

religious opression isn't racism. This isn't racism, it's just unfair worker treatment - he should be able to choose what day(s) of the week he can get off ( no pun).

You aren't allowed to discriminate based on religion and are required to make reasonable accomadations. Taking off a particular day is reasonble. I didn't get hired once because I said I couldn't work on Sunday as that was my church day. My would be manager also wanted to take off Sunday so he could go to church. He hired someone else.

I have no problem with people taking whatever day off they want - I think it's a fair worker's demand. I just don't think it should be just allowed due to religious reasons.
