Once again I started playing CK, now with the new 1.4 patch it is a lot more stable and fun. The thing I like most about it is the vast roleplaying possibilities, as CK is a character-based game.

I just own it for a week or so. Have not finished one complete game yet. I like CK generally very much, although some elements still need change IMO (and I'm glad they are still patching it).

CK is fantastic, the only Paradox game better is EU2. With 1.04a it's becoming a good game, although lots of problems is still unsolved there, but as soon as you install the latest beta, it becomes a whole new game! It still has some issues, but the large amount of fixes, and not to forget additions in large quantities makes it really enjoyable.

Hm, the pope has asked me to grant one of his bishops a place in my court. Of course I agreed. Now, shock! That Bishop was a skeptical, lustful heretic

I donīt know, but shouldnīt the Pope chose his servants more ... conscientiously?

The game's pretty easy. But it has become a little harder after the beta patches came. I don't think it is one single trick though.

No Iīm not. It spoils the game too terribly once you know about it. Enjoy as long as you are still innocent

Really, this "trick" is a standard strategy that can be applied to any kingdom and duchy you play. It abuses the gameīs inability to simulate certain aspects of empire building and takes advantage of the strange war-and-peace engine. Also it leads to totally unhistorical and in reality impossible outcomes of the game, as well as a sure win with any country you chose.

So better itīs not mentioned to those who donīt know yet. If you really like to know, at the Paradox Forums (which are currently down because they move to another server) there are lots of threads about this strategy and demands to put an end to it

I have 1.04alpha, the latest official patch. I want to finnish my current game first before I try a beta.....if youre still interested in a pic I could post it then....

my "trick" was to just breed brilliant kids and have them inherit everything through careful marriages and well-timed assasinations. The O'Neils of Ireland were rulers of the British Isles, Byzantium, France, all of Germany and all of Italy, and all of Africa.... mongols didn't stand a chance

One of these days I'm actually going to pull out the CK disk and install it. Currently, I've been spending my gaming time getting murdered by the AI in Victoria. I'm still not really sure how to get people to work at my factories.

Don't build a factory in a region that doesn't have enough pops to support it unless you have no other choice. Never promote more clerks than you have laborers in a region.

Itīs a good strategy guide which contains much of what I call the "trick". Notice that the thing Iīm talking about is an exploit of the game engine which makes winning too easy, so I wonīt give it away (most know already anyway). And if you reread this Apolyton thread more carefully, you will also find several hints
