Report 1750bc - Proposal 1725bc Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Actions taken in 1750 BC

- worker Rhot: started irrigating grass.
- worker McM: finished irrigating plains.
- worker Platy: finished roading forest.

- new swordsman Mike Love 4/4 moves 66 and fortified in Nirvana.
- swordsmen Bono Vox 4/4 and Larry Mullen 4/4 fortify on worker Platy.
- swordsman The Edge moves to Nirvana

- spearman Phill Collins moves 6 to mountain as a lookout.
- new spearman Brian Wilsom 4/4 moves 996 from Metallica to U2.

- catapult Electric Guitar Hucker fortifies in Nirvana.

- horseman Tina Turner 4/4, moved 69 to horse tile
- horseman Beyoncé Knowles 4/4, moved 78 from BC-52s to attack DR warrior Colin. Beyonce wins and is promoted to elite 5/5.

- AbbA: swordsman in 1.
- U2: horseman in 1.
- Nirvana: swordsman in 6. WF changed to 1,4,7,18 to grow in next turn
- Metallica: spearman in 10.
- BC-52's: spearman in 2.
- Beach Boys: catapult in 6. WF changed to 2,15 to allow Nirvana to grow while maintaining shield output.

Construction in 12 turns @ 80% science
10% luxuries
-2 gpt with 5 gold in treasure @ 10% taxes

Diplomacy:
-

Remarks
- Total War Balance: lost 4 archers, 1 spearman & 1 warrior vs eliminated 3 horsemen and 1 warrior = 110 shields lost vs 100 shields.
- We are still STRONG towards DR and AVERAGE to BOH!
- We are 1st in both MFG and GNP, but only 4th in overall productivity because of growth issues.

Proposal for actions in 1725 BC
- Worker McM moves 789 to mine a grassland near Beach Boys to speed that up
- Worker Platy...?? Depends on the question below.
- Abba can start building workers after the sword next turn. I propose to switch the cattle back and forth between Abba and BC-52s
- Dial up the luxury slider a notch to avoid getting too low in gold.

Diplomacy
- There has been no (Euphoriscian) reply on the proposal for negotiations with LB on an alliance vs DR!

Full PM-box? Change here!

I agree with McM's thoughts about popping out a few workers. They are needed in several areas now. My thoughts are to make Abba back into a worker pump for a while (not a great one unfortunately, but the best we have with only one food bonus tile in the entire area).

I plan to shuffle the cattle tile back and forth between Abba and BC-52s for 4-turn growth in AbbA. That won't equate to a 2-turn worker pump yet, but we can fill in the rest with a spear here and there.

I also think Nirvana should be the one to work on a settler, not Abba. Nirvana won't grow as fast as Abba will, but that's something we'll have to deal with.

As to settling a new city, there are several locations that merit consideration...south of Nirvana to incorporate the horse and to provide a waypoint to DR; west of Abba on the river (not great potential yet); NW of BC-52s (has potential for 4 bonus grassland and a fur, along with being on a river); and finally north of Abba in unexplored territory.

NW of BC-52s has the most potential but it will also be the most corrupt for a while. I'd like to settle SW of Nirvana. It's not a great city site, but it does have a couple of oases and the advantage of the horse. But that brings up another point. I'm curious whether worker Platy was intended to be roading toward DR or not???

Got spare money?

I just saw a post by Krill in another forum about what has been happening to A-M.

quote:
eh, We got warrior rushed.

We lost a settler and two workers. The workers were one turn from clearing a jungle tile, that would have allowed us a 4 turn setler pump, and the settler had actually just built a town that claimed iron.

And I did what was probably the stupidest thing ever. I built a temple around turn 15.

Thank God we are Egypt...

Worker platy - I have no clue.
Nirvana - does have the other bonus food, so it's a fine choice.
I sort of would like to see a third sword force (or horse force, or whatever) fully decked out before starting workers/settlers, though. Don't want to do things halfway

Is that a new BoH city I see to our west? From the minimap, it looks rather far east ... I forget the exact line we agreed on, but it is listed in the thread down there somewhere ...

Nevermind, it just looked further away in-game than it does on the minimap.

What's the benefit of a spearman? I'd like to see a library at some stage, but that'll be in a time when DR is on its knees.

worker Platy was indeed roading towards DR. Actually more specific, the mountains that will give good cover for our troops (even against immortals). BOH is about to take care of the west side of the front. Now our troops will be able to get into the mountains in 1 tun from Nirvana.

As long as we're at war I'm not all that keen on expanding towards DR. We'll bring them a target close to them on poor defendable grounds. I'd prefer the third fur city or the city in between Metallica and BC-52's. The last one can be made productive through irrigation. There will be more workers available in the same time span. A city NNE from AbbA should be quite productive as well.

Why did you move Tina onto the horse tile? I just love the horse tile to be acting as a bait. With 2 units down in 2 turns, however, DR now will probably understand we are quite capable of responding to single units. The war balance is almost equal That colony paid out! (3 units down on DR side).

It's only 20 shields. I haven't fully worked it out yet, but with 4-turn growth, we can't have 2-turn workers. So I was thinking that in the 8 turns we'll need to grow two pop points, we'll average about 40 shields currently. Two workers are 20 shields, and the other 20 for a spear.

Okay. That's what I wasn't sure about. In the other post it almost sounded like you said it was an accident that you roaded that tile. But it doesn't really make any sense to continue the road onto the mountains. We wouldn't even get one mountain roaded before the next attack begins.

A less-defensible target away from our productive cities was part of the point. Give them something to shoot for that keeps their own units less likely to head toward us via the defensible mountains and also giving us that horse back. Having a city there may not even matter if they don't attack us before we attack them, but it gives them something else to think about. But I'll bow to the wishes of the team if the team would rather see that settler go elsewhere.

It wasn't to protect it. I was just making a run to see if I could see any more DR units around on the hills/mountains. Tina will move back into Nirvana next turn.

I'm cool with the SW city, actually - I had exactly the same reasoning while thinking of where to settle Rushbuild walls in it, and get some offensive forces in it, and it'll be a nice tempting juicy target for them
