Thanks for the expected response. But your answer is telling, given your apparent lack of emphasis placed on military during the first two games. But for those who really think that cash and diplomacy alone is going to win this one for you, keep this in mind.
PAL may play you this game just because they think you wouldn't expect it. Beware of their cunning.
CGN has two key members that have a good idea of how the Poly ISDG experience works. Don't think that they won't use that to their advantage against you with any civ they meet. Trip wants to trash your @$$ too.
If CDZ has caught wind of your style, you can plan to be rushed early.
That said, maybe the safety of continents is the way to go, as it will allow you to maintain the status quo with limited casualty. But get ready for another coastal standoff mid-game (boring!).
NOTE: With response like nye's (when I even get one), I feel it's best to refer to Poly team as "your" team for now. Because at this point I don't feel welcome enough to call it "our" team.
I joined your team for one reason: to help you guys avoid CFC's fate from last game. So I will plug for military strength in the finals for as long as I have access to this forum. Smoke and mirrors will not win this time out.

Oh, I believe we can handle PAL. We've had more experience with ISDGs than they have, and MasterZen is an excellent Foreign Affairs Minister, so I don't think we have reason to worry.

Two members? I can only think of Trip. And Trip only knows how the previous Apolyton ISDG works, not how we run it this time. If we hide any resemblance to the old team, we will catch Trip by surprise.
How would they have caught our style of play, unless they have the best Minister of Information I have ever seen.
That invasion plan against GWT was far from boring. It was one of the most exciting, tense, and stressful times from the 'Poly point of view.

Look, don't take it personally. We are not being overly aggresive because you are new. We may treat you poorly, but if we do, we treat everyone poorly. But you do seem overly confident that foreign affairs and domestic affairs won't win us this game, and that we aren't going to win unless we focus on the military aspect of the game, and push out the other two parts.

I never said anything about pushing out the other two. But we cannot forget about the military aspect of the game. I realize that the alliance with PAL afforded you a bit of safety last game, but having less military units than cities is unconscienable.
We will not be able to go that route this game. We need the 3-legged table of military, diplomacy and commercial to even consider a victory. Because no matter how good we think we are, we will be attacked this game.
Someone earlier said that we were the ones to beat, but in reality, we are the ones everyone will be gunning for. There's a difference.
In reality, no one wants one of the "big sites" to win. This was probably a factor in CFC's demise last game. PAL and CDZ play nothing but PBEMs 24/7, and almost always achieve victory through military prowess. We need to be able to offset that, and we can start by not acting so comfy.
This is starting to turn into somewhat of a threadjack, so I'll close by stating I'd still like a modded Pangaea since it emphasizes all the important factors mentioned here.
