Each morning, on my way to work, we pass over a trainyard containing a few derelict trains from China's communist era. So one afternoon, I decided to head over there and take a few snapshots of these ancient rusting behemoths before they melted down for industrial use.

Here are a few pics for you train enthusiasts.

Feel free to post them there.

I'm unfamiliar with Datong, so I can't say. I'm in Hangzhou now. And the pictures were taken here.

Sadly, I found no steam engines. The trains in the pictures are all all the trains in the yard.

Diss: Hangzhou is known for its rainy weather. However, today we have a misty light blue sky.

I'm glad so many people liked the photos. I probably should start taking more pictures.

You are nowhere near Datong (south of it by at least a few hundred miles), which was (and probably still is) where most the locomotives were built.
