He said he would do it "if" no one else wanted to. Plus, I think he wants to be a Consul once again; something I believe he did quite well at.

But, if he changes his mind and wants the position then we should hold another poll. I'm pretty sure that this isn't the case though.

I say yes for various reasons.

1 - He's the only one willing to do it

2 - He's shown to be quite eager for a post

3 - It will send a nice message to the other teams that we put a known CFCer to represent us "wow, Apolyton is so diverse and democratic". Likewise it might also provoke a "damn, they must be so short of good veteran players they're placing their refugees in leadership positions" response which is of course, beneficial to our foreign policy objectives

4 - It will also send a nice message to ourselves that there is no preference for the veteran Poly members. There is but one qualification for leadership positions in this game: PROVE you're worthy of the post, mattering not if you're an Apolytoner, a CFCer, or a German Webringian.

Funny, MZ....when I considered this position, I had the same FA thoughts as you did. I'll just have to remember to share some of the credit when we win.

Not really. There have been no rules discussions taking place, and minimal participation from the teams. If things look bustling over there in postcount, it's only because CDG's emperor (the mapmaker) is responding to every single post!

I dare not say anything to him, lest we wind up with a fine starting location deep in the tundra. But it is somewhat annoying.

I remember that! I had even tried it even before he was a member.

I think I was #3 as far as membership goes because I joined the day before the big outage at APO when a lot of people headed over to MZO to get their Civ fix. MZ had not really had that site running for long before that. MZ was very gracious in helping get people set up over there as far all the DG's going on. In case I didn't say it before, thanks MZ.
