The London lineup blows every other one out of the water. The US one is an amazing pile of crap. Although you gotta love the mix of people like 50 cent and Jay Z with homo-rock like Maroon 5 and Rob Thomas along with has beens like Bon Jovi and Stevie Wonder. That should draw quite the motley assortment of fans.

I think you guys just aren't the target demographic for the philly show. Before 50 cent bailed, I thought it was a pretty incredible line up.

Is it going to be titled Cheating Death for One More Year?

Notice not one post has mentioned the "cause" these artists are supposedly gathering for? The tactic will be a failure in that respect but there should be some good shows. |
Here are two countries that the Live 8 promoters hope will be the target of increased food aid and debt forgiveness:
Swaziland, ruled by King Mswati III:
http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/afric...azi.wives.reut/
"Mswati, 37, has drawn criticism for spending money on luxury cars while many of his 1.1 million subjects struggle by on food aid, ravaged by the world's highest rate of HIV/AIDS which affects around two in every five adults.
Mswati early in June said he was not sub-Saharan Africa's only absolute monarch, contending that although political parties were banned in Swaziland, he only made decisions after consulting with the people."
and
Zimbabwe, ruled by President Robert Mugabe:
http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/afric...e.ap/index.html
" The government's Operation Murambatsvina, or Drive Out Trash, has already left more than 250,000 city dwellers homeless in the winter cold. Police also have arrested more than 30,000 vendors, accusing them of dealing in black market goods and attempting to sabotage Zimbabwe's failing economy.
Opposition leaders say the eviction campaign is aimed at driving their supporters among the urban poor into rural areas, where they can be more easily controlled.
"The government wants to depopulate urban areas ahead of the 2008 elections and re-create a rural peasantry in which voters are brought under the control of local chiefs and Mugabe's militias," Sydney Masamvu, an analyst from the International Crisis Group think tank, said in a statement Friday."
