	The State of the World Suffering from ads?

Could someone please summarize the diplomatic/military situation in the world today? I'm having trouble keeping the alliances and wars apart...

Agreed. I have been in lurker mode, but have tried to keep up with news. Beta and then Kloreep have done a good job with the turn update threads with a map. Those help.

I too have been trying to jump back into this game. I'd just like to know who are the good guys and who are the bad guys.

Are we allowed to look at the saves to see the current state of affairs. Provided that we don't play ahead - of course. Do we need a passcode?

Of course that's allowed.

And yes, the save is protected. You'll need the password "walls"

I believe DR and Euphorica are both fighting for the long haul, just like BOH and AM.

Perhaps we should contact them again and tell them things aren't going well with BOH on the border issue.

I had posted this a few days back in the "strategicially where is all this going thread".

And since then:

Paddy has confirmed they have backed off the AM assault to concentrate on DR (See BOH correspondence thread).

And DR is pressuring us for an answer on their proposal as skrobism points out (see the DR correspondence thread).

As to Euphorica - we have not had much contact with them since the early alliance talks and the tech trade. It is noteworthy that at that time, they were not in agreement with BOH's assault on AM, or at least they wanted full disclosure regarding the war, as did we. This is one of the issues I see with the BOH alliance, they want the alliance on specific issues only - like attacking DR.

If BOH is leaving AM alone for the moment, the border situation becomes moot. I'm still not happy with their intentions, but it becomes possible to go for DR, I think.

Eliminating DR and AM seems to me to still be the way to go, as they are the most surrounded civs; eliminating them gives the remaining 4 civs the four corners of this seemingly squarish continent.

I think we should propose to BOH that after the DR war is over, we attack AM jointly, with our proposed border settling things afterward.

One thing that hinges on this is the LB. If they truly are entering a pact with DR as Aqua claims, they may not be happy with these events. We need to make sure they stay out of the fighting, and perhaps we could try to enter in to an alliance with them in the long run.

Yep - this is key. So far I have been unable to get 1889 of the Lost Boys to discuss matters at all. That being said, my sense is that he is reasonably close with DR and Aqua.

From what I have picked up on is that Euphorica is trying to teach DR to sing and be merry but DR is generally tone deaf and grumpy - they are at war or at least have been sparring.

BOH has now got it's eye on DR.

We have been in talks with BOH and Euphorica about this proposed Alliance of Three (A3).

The Lost Boys have gone missing to us, so it seems. But DR is interested in trades and talks with us. Rumor has it that LB and DR are in talks of some kind.

We need to pick sides now.

It looks to me that we have the best relations with BOH. I say we get in touch with BOH and Euphorica and solidify this A3 vs DR. Make some trades with DR as soon as possible - in our favor of course. See what we can get out of DR. Share the wealth with the A3, and get on with eliminating them.

It would seem (or is within very good reason to beleave) that AM is now a Vassel of BoH. They have a RoP and AM just recently built an Embassy with us (for Intelligence for their masters and an Invasion route??). It looks like they are also building a Road to BoH between Barrows Nest and Red Rivers Hills. It wold also seem that AM still has to connect their Spices, but are fairly close to doing that.

Also Eu and BOH are going to make their alliance with eachother known in game.
