I think you guys are putting too much stock into Cuban exiles in Florida and not enough into the fact that it is still Castro controlling Cuba. Mao is not in control of China, nor Stalin or Kruschyev in Russia. Castro is a Cold War relic, and I believe that relations will normalize once he dies.

I agree that relations with Cuba should be normalized. Brisk trade with the US would erode the communist position in the country within a matter of years. If the Cuban emiges protest it sohoud be pointed out to them that with free travel between our countries they have a much better opportunity to increase their influence in their original homeland.
