We get Monarchy in 3 turns. First of all, do we want to trade it? If so, to whom, for what, etc?

Planet - the only offer so far is from BOH who are shopping literature around.

And no one has reneged on us so far.

And as Kloreep has asked - who do we trade it to.

May I suggest we trade it to everyone - but not as soon as we have completed it. I suspect we will be the first to finish it. We can switch with only one turn of anarchy. That should give us a jump on the others in terms of growth.

So - how long do we wait?

And then we trade it to all and get maximum returns.

The other option is to hold it back for 3 or 4 turns, get ourselves established - and then trade it to BOH and Euphorica only, assuming they are the teams in our allaince. That should get us caught up in the tech race.

I say we trade it after we have established our monarchy. We trade with members of our glorious alliance: BOH and Euphorica, Lost Boys if they come on board.

I don't think we are behind at all. In fact - I belive Monarchy will put us the first out of despotism, and through trades, ensure that we get the techs we currently don't have. I know that Lit and CoL are out there for available for trades. I expect LB is working on Republic.

And then limiting the trade to our allies might be a good idea, provided they agree to not trade it to third parties at all. If they donīt agree on that one, we can as well sell it ourselves to every other team.

I say let's get out of anarchy first but if TNA asks for it let them have it. We are friends and should work on building our friendship.

Non-TNAs civ are to be strictly forbidden access to this tech from BOH or Euphorica. We on the other hand can do with it as we please.

For now yes. I will get on the horn to BoH and Euphorica to see the deals we can make. And to be honest - I am not opposed to trading it to the others as well.

I had forgotten about us owing tech credits to TNA.

Can you check just who map making came from and what our tech point balance might be with Euphorica and BOH? BOH seems to say Map Making came from them, I can't remember if that was the case, but if so MM+Lit=22 points, only 2 less than Monarchy IIRC

I know that our Team Leader is Beta, but Kloreep has been doing most of the actual turn playing & he will be leaving for a while come August. In honor of his hard work I suggest that we name him King Kloreep [insert some fearsome subtile here] of the Babylonians.

Tech points are the base value from which the cost of techs are calculated. (There are other factors in the cost that change from game to game, such as world size and difficulty level, and the # of civs with the tech may also change the cost within a game, but the base multiplier and the proportions between techs that come out of it stay the same from game to game.)

You can see these base values in the editor if you enable custom rules and go to the Civilization Advances tab in the Edit Rules pop-up.

Thanks for the suggestion of King. However, I don't think we need any Monarch except Inanna. After all, we didn't have an official Despot, did we?
