	Visual Flashing problem when playing Tired of ads?

Hello, I am experiencing a problem where the game flashes black for a fraction of a second every few seconds or so. The problem is bearable, but I would like to fix it if possible.
Please help if you can.

Not much detailed info in your post, but I've noticed that the main map will sometimes go black during the AI's turns. By watching the minimap, I was able to see that this was caused by the game trying to show events happening to AI opponents in unexplored areas of the map. If this is the problem you're describing, try going through the options and turning off any that allow viewing events concerning opponents.

This also sounds like you might have some other annoying program working in the background. I can usually have lots of other programs (MSN, Newsbin, ICQ) working in the background with no problems, but some programs can cause the screen to flick black once really quick, but this isnt very often, maybe on average every 10 minutes if some program is doing something intensive. Try closing down as many programs as you can in the background before starting CtP2 and see if it stops.

Yes! I am having the same problem with flashing: very annoying and makes it difficult to play. I have done everything aforementioned: turning off backround programs, turning off sound, reducing resolution, etc, etc. Nothing has corrected the problem.

Any ideas out there?

Any new ideas or suggestions re: visual flashing? Besides the two mentioned in this post, are there any others experiencing the same problems?
