Jamski is an excellent Smac/x player and he learnt a lot (like Snowflake), I think, under Kody's influence during the ACDG2 days, (where Kody would monitor key player posting records and make deductions about what was happening diplomacy wise- how scary is that?). So I regard Jamski as a Smacer Ok.
But Jamski is also a massive, thoughtful and entertaining contributor to other forums. at 'Poly , hence my vote.

hercules--
On Tau ceti -- I voted for him the last two or three times to get his name in there. I think his long term running and CMNing the poly SMAC tourney was worthy of recognition.(I think we played in a few games he ran ) But he wasn't getting enough other votes and as time passes he will be less remembered so I made a practical choice to switch my vote. I will probably vote for Tau ceti again in a later election-- if only to give recognition to a major SMAC contributor once more-- But I know he won't make the hall so thats about all I can do.
I don't want my earlier comments to be taken wrong. the people you named have all contributed and vote for any of them . All I was sayng is that I wouldn't vote for soemone solely because they would be zeroed otherwise.
as for Flubber -- , I don't deserve to be in the Hall. You named half a dozen folks at least that have made a bigger SMAC contribution than me and who are more active elsewhere. I just babble

Hi MrWhereItsAt
And now, vote by vote analysis of votes gained by SMACers in August 2005 Hall of Fame elections.
I've sent a PM to Darkcloud. There seem to be some inconsistencies - total votes this round don't match the ones I got by summing the votes listed in Who voted for whom list.
EDIT: No, I am right in some accounts, there are mismatches of votes total received. I have bolded the errors I noticed.
Also, you mispelled Comraede Tassadar, JAmski and Iluminatus.
Numbers in bracketts represent total votes received this round according to ranking list, while sums of individual votes show real total votes received this round based on checking the Who voted for whom list.
Alinestra Covelia 3+3+4=10 [10]
buster 3+2+3+3+4+4+3+4+4+1=31 [30] (lacks 1 vote)

Hey guys,
I don't mind not being in the hall of fame. Truth is I was always a burst activity person, I would pour all my time and engery into one thing thing at a time. Nowadays I'm pretty much retired from apolyton and SMAX.

*snicker*, that's because I would read everything in all the alpha centauri and related forums, then end up pressing refresh constantly waiting for the next post. This was before I got deeply into playing the game. If I didn't take a few minutes to think before I made all my posts people would have seen most of my replies instantly appearing after the previous post.
It was embrassing once when I realised I had been pressing refresh for a hour without any new posts appearing. I had to force myself to get a drink of water... before I came back to check for new posts again. *giggle*

If the votes are still going on, or for the next HoF...
Googlie, Snowflake (Honghu) and ... umm GeoModder
quote: What grips your interest nowadays then? |
Hey Geomodder
I read 3 novels earlier this week...
Other than that trying to concentrate on getting more work done in my studies.
Umm earlier this year one of my friends got me into this morpg where I got an insanely high level character... my friends were initally annoyed I sped out of level range then switched to teasing me about the amount of time I spent playing ... yeah so must concentrate on my studies.

Darn missed out on casting my votes. Oh well.
Hey Darsnan, yeah well it seems I keep revisiting my old haunts every now and again.
Thanks Illuminatus, for that information on the HoF. Oh yeah also thanks again for those ebooks, good reading.
Hrmm 3:30am, guess it's time to sleep.
