Currently we're idling.

Do we know the status of the last 4 ancient techs?

-Literature (BOH has it)
-Currency
-Construction
-Code of Laws

IIRC, Euphorica is researching Construction. BOH has Lit. So those can come from TNA. But what about Code of Laws and Currency?

Under despotism, we could research Code of Laws in 5 turns while still having a positive (albeit single-digit) gpt. Monarchy probably would have less GPT, during such a research, but it would still be quite possible with our large treasury. (144 gold, and about to grow by 30 before we enter anarchy).

I went back to the BOH chat log and found what Paddy said about the status of TNA tech. Euphorica is indeed researching Construction. He also said before that that both Construction and Currency are "in the works" or something to that effect, so this may mean that BOH is researching Currency. (On the other hand, he also mentions that DR has Currency. Were they simply trying to wrangle it from DR to trade to TNA, or are they actually researching Currency?)

Even though CoL was in the agenda, Paddy did not give us an update on it. Beta brought up the fact that LB had been offering it to us, but Paddy either missed or ignored it.

So, Construction is under research by Euphorica, Currency is hopefully under research by BOH, Lit has been discovered. The only tech that's an unknown in this equation is Code of Laws. We need to contact TNA and sort out whether this tech is in the TNA loop already.

Based on the above, looks like CoL.

And we don't have to wait for the anarchy to end before starting. Turn some citizens in cities we don't want to grow too fast during it into scientists.
