No, I think we've a solid majority of revolutionaries, with a good measure of evolutionaries.

I certainly don't think slow and incrimental advances have a chance in hell of suceeding, but I'm willing to be allies during non-revolutionaries periods.

Of course revolution is justified if the lives of the citizens are intolerable, and the rulers are unwilling to lift them out of misery. But as things currently stand in the developed world, revolution is not only an undesirable option, it is highly improbable. In Australia, for example the socialists and communists all seem to be students... i.e. people with very little leverage over the political process. Revolutionaries are highly marginal and widely viewed as fanatics. Fabianism is an attempt to make socialism respectable, responsible and a desirable option.

.... if the revolution does come, however.... I'll be very tempted to join in.

Australian Fabians are having a hard enough time trying to wrench the political playing field back into the left half of the centre... fostering revolutionary attitudes is even harder.

But if there is room in the CPA for evolutionists... then I'll consider returning to the fold.

I continue to use the name because that's how people know me. I did make several name changes back in the day....
