	The Apolyton Fabian Society Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I'm already a member of the Australian Fabian Society, so I thought I'd set one up here at Apolyton.

I realized that I'm probably not communist enough to be in the CPA.... and though I'll probably still side (at least in spirit) with Che, Ag, Kid et al, on many issues... I can't with good faith call myself a Communist.

It all depends on how you define "communist". I belive the word is tainted by the atrocities commited by various dictators. Therefore I wouldn´t label myself "communist".

Besides, I thought the CPA allowed fractions/tendencies?

I guess im really more on the social democrat end of the Third way/new democrats (i agree with them on most things, except for the DLC's aversion to talking about income inequality and taxation for redistribution) more than the third way end of social democrats. Id rather call myself a social democrat for reasons of nostalgia, I suppose.

Im not denying the satirical flavor. (i mean who the hell needs a front group in a loony bin like this?) Just that it looks less like the satire of a party, and more like a satire of a classic communist front group.

Fabianism has nothing to do with Fabio... It was named after some Roman General who defeated his opponents through slow and incremental attrition... which is the Fabian's approach to implementing socialism.

They don't believe in revolution, but rather the evolution of socialism within the democratic and parliamentary system.
