My dog's name is Dude. It was either that or Amos (he slept in a Famous Amos cookie box as a pup).
I used to say dude a lot. But I think I got tired of it. I still use it, more often I say 'man', yet even more often I use 'hey'.

I use it frequently. In Dutch, I'm used to using its equivalent, "gast".
