That said, there shouldn't be a need for him to be in the room later anyway.

Hey, we might have a problem with the way that Nuke set up the Chatroom. I had first tried to get into the room without a password and jot in with this:

It seems to be the same problem as Poly IRC had: you can get in without a password if the channel is empty (and you then see the password being set). Security works fine so long as someone is already in the channel though.

I've asked about this in #helpdesk, but it seems the two admins there are AFK at the moment.

Lord Nuclear, perhaps try setting a V flag? I notice Rasbelin recommended that flag when I talked to him about setting up a channel.

Status of the chatroom, since it seems LN has forgot to post about it: it seems the password problem will not be fixed immediately, so the channel has been switched to access list security. Only people with nicks on the access list can join the channel, and only nicks that have been registered (and are thus password protected) can be added to the access list.

Here's how to register: get on irc.civirc.com with either a client program (mIRC, ChatZilla, etc.) or one of the browser clients available through http://www.civchat.com/

Set your nickname to what you want to register, which I imagine would be your username here on poly. (Command: "/nick Nickname" example would be "/nick Kloreep" for me)

To register your nick, type "/msg NickServ REGISTER password email" with password replaced with the password you want and the e-mail replaced with your e-mail.

Once you do this, a message will be sent to your e-mail address with instructions and a code for one more command to confirm registration. Once you do this your nick is registered. Each time you log on to CivIRC you will need to use the same nick, and to type "/msg NickServ IDENTIFY password" to be able to log on to #apolytonisdg. (Lord Nuclear will need to add you to the access list for you to have #apolytonisdg permission, though.)

Damn. Tried to copy-paste the "join" command into mIRC, but it displayed the entire join command as text it in the #Apolyton room instead. Yes, that includes the password. Only someone named 'ari' was there at the time. If we really want to be safe, better change the password. Sorry...!
