I was pretty impressed with the movie too. No special effects, no big explosions, no famous actors, it wasn't sold on T&A, and it was just an interesting human development story shown through an artsy selection of camera angles. After watching the new Star Wars Trilogy I thought Natolie Portman couldn't act worth a damn but the truth is if she's given a decent script then she can actually be an expressive an animated actress. Two thumbs up.

Well dull film for the most part, especially the saggy middle bit. Zach Braff really ought to have applied the same creative energy on the cutting room floor as he did with his camera, and killed off quite a few darlings in the process. His taste in music sucks astoundingly too.

Though the ending picked up a helluva lot though, especially the heart-warming bits that were really well done.

The music wasn't so bad. I could have done without frou frou but I liked the part with Postal Service though I hated how he got rid of all the electronica parts and turned it into a super slowed down accoustic song.

Yeah, that was a good line. All those people were drugged out losers though. I'd have been seriously pissed at the friend who was a grave robber.

I know, it's a great movie, but I can't find it at Blockbuster anymore. Evidently if a movie's been on the shelve more than a certain number of years they don't try to replace it if their current copy disappears or wears out.

I watched Sideways this week. It was interesting, but I didn't think it was that great.

Sideways was easily the most overrated film of 2004.

Garden State was better than sideways but Sideways was made for an audience that does not get as much attention. In the movies, the nerd/geek/loser usually finds himself by the end of college. This guy was a middle aged (late thirties early forties) teacher that still did not have his **** together. All in All, I prefer Garden State. Zach Braff wrote and directed excellently.

Put an end to popups!

I saw Mr & Mrs Smith the other day and it was pretty good. Nothing to write home about and the ending made no sense but still a fun movie.
