List your favorite old-time console games. Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

In no particular chronological order or by console -- just typing them in as I think of each one.

Liberty or Death (SNES)

Joust (Atari 2600)

Dig Dug (Atari 2600)

Pac Man titles (Atari 2600)

Civilization I (SNES) -- at the time I bought this game, I didn't know how profoundly it would alter my life.

Utopia (SNES) -- gotta take over ALL the planets

Super Street Fighter titles (SNES) -- I can be violent bastard, just not in real life

Mario Brothers (Atari 2600) -- I can never forget those tasty wafers and those nasty crabs

Super Mario Brothers titles (NES and SNES) -- from the Mushroom all the way to the Cape, these titles RULE

Super Conflict (SNES)

Final Fantasy titles (NES SNES, PS I) -- all the way up to the seventh title, and after that, my fanhood tapered off -- but I LOVED it at the time, I tell ya

Sim Ant (SNES) -- bring it ON damn red ants!

Zelda titles (NES and SNES)
the ones beyond the SNES console did NOT appeal to me

Metroid titles (NES and SNES) -- and it was not for the boobs that you can tell she had under her armor

There might be a few more that I have forgotten for the moment.

So what is your list?

Many do, but they mainly post in other games, NOT OTF.

Some people have the odd idea that OG is only for discussion of specific games. Its not, we have comparison, discussions of the state of gaming, etc. Others think its full of spam. Id say not really any more so than any other on topic forum - in fact ive seen much worse (already) on the Civ4 forum than in OG (and dont even get me started on the SMAC forums) I mean if you dont count the forum games as spam. Which apparently the management doesnt.

So come to OG, and enjoy.

Atari games:

Adventure ("Somebody get this freakin' duck away from me!")
Pitfall
Missile Command

NES:

Dragon Warrior series (my all-time favorites)
Guantlet
Hockey (not sure full name of it)
Destiny of the Emperor
Faxanadu
Super Mario Bros.

I never really played consoles after that until the N64.

I lost interest in consoles after I bought a PlayStation 1. Last summer, for some unknown reason, I thought I would revive my interest by buying a Playstation II but it's just not in me anymore, so I returned it for a full refund with all of its contents within 30 days.

So am I the only one who had friends with parents who were to cheap to buy an Atari 2600 so they bought them a Calicovision? Boy did that consol suck; I mean it got stomped by the Atari 2600. Same guy ended up getting Atari Jaguar around 1991 when everyone else was getting the SNES.

I don't remember it being that expensive. Our family was dirt poor, and we had one. Though it may have been a used one we got a a garage sale. Maybe we weren't as poor as I thought.

I remember we had to use a layaway problem to get a commodore 64 for my brother. It was like $200. It took nearly a year for us to get it. We just didn't have the money to buy it outright.

I remember our atari had a broken reset button, so I think it was used. we had to turn it off and turn it back on to reset games.

Oh, oh, oh!!!!

There was a game on the 8-bit NES where you played against another human opponent. In this game you shot cannon balls at your opponent's castle walls to win and then there was an interval where you had a time limit during which you tried to reconstruct your castle walls.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?
