It's roughly a two hour commute by bike, bus, train, bus, and foot. I will be getting a car to shorten that commute to 30 minutes.
And it's perm baby. It pays considerably less that what I wanted, but it has full medical, and I like the product and the owner of the company. He was so excited talking about it that it got me interested, even though I'll be taking a $20K hit from my last gig. Plus, $40K a year for two years is better than $60K a year every other year. And the wife is making money at a job she likes and that likes her, so I think, maybe, things are gonna settle down for us and we'll have some long term stability to start saving for a house and little Chinese baby girls.

Japher, does your coverage start on day 1 of your new job? Your wife's coverage too?

No, and No... hence the COBRA

No, but the price is right.
Last night I told wifey that they wanted us to get there ASAP and she got rather "emotional". She's mad at herself for telling her current job that she'd be there until the end of July even though she knew that might not be true, she's scared about switching doctors this late in the pregnancy, and she's worried about all the things we have to do on this end to get moved.
I told her work is work, and if they get mad at you for giving them 4 weeks notice than they are to blame. I told her that we hardly ever see her doctor, more so a nurse, and when we have the kid chances are the doctor won't be the same one. I also told her that she's not to worried about all the "chores" that need to get done.
She's taking it a little better now, just needed to let it all soak in. She doesn't want me to not take the job, and she confesses that while she knew this would happen she just didn't think it would happen so fast.
