Nuts, I think my job is gonna fall through. I wasn't able to get ahold of the guy Thursday or Friday (I left messages), but I just got a hold of him now. He wants me to call back on Monday afternoon, cuz he's got other offers out and he wants to see who's taking.

We were negotiating on salary and after we settled on one, I wasn't able to get in touch with him after that. I would be his highest paid employee, and still taking a $20K cut from my last job.

Maybe it's just as well. Theoretically, I have a contract with Discovery Channel, just no start date. I'd like to have that name on my resume.

That could mean it could be some time between tomorrow and When Hell Freezes Over.

If I were you, I'd first grab the other offer, then call up Discovery Channel to confirm a start date.
