Wow! I just don't know what to say! This is unblievable! I didn't think we had much of a chance when I founded the team. I am truely thankful to all involved!
And I would like to personally thank MZ. Without his "building" ( ) and leadership we would have been lost.

Aggie, although missing for thousands of years, was vital in GoWs roll of the Bobian War.

Panzer for never quiting, even during those long years...

Uno, for being Uno. His flare is unique.

It goes on like this for hours.

Now I MUST say that this victory could not have been had if it were not for the fabulouse Arab people, the Nue Demogyptians!

Borc, who first ventured out into the world of Apolyton. ND, and the subsequest GoW/ND alliance that won this game, could have never happened if he hadn't joined the fray and brung his friends!

Darekill. I remember some of the early chat we had. I was aggressive in my talking and you never backed down, talking just as aggressively back. If there is one thing I respect, its a backbone!

It goes on like this again for more hours.

...and thank you to anyone else that I missed in my speech. I hope to meet you all again be it on the same side...

That was the plan.

Alas, the UN vote came 5 turns earlier than expected (we thought it was 20 turns, it was 15).

Our plan was to have Vox on the ballot so they built a ton of settlers and they might have probably reached the 25% next turn. Suffice to say that as of this turn only southern Stormia remained uncolonized.

So well, ND voted for us and we returned the favor. The "fair" thing therefore was to let Vox decide on who "technically" won.

But well, I only see this as me resigning as GoW Emperor for a 15 turn shot as Secretary General of the UN. In 15 more turns we'll vote for Rhoth

I was not going to bother doing this but I think a long list of personal praises are in order:

Hot_Enamel: Of all the GoWers I think you were the one who was involved throught the whole game. No matter how obscure the thread or post I made, I somehow knew you would respond. Oh yeah, and next time I drink whiskey, I'll remember that chat! Cheers mate

Donegeal: If anyone is the "epitome" of GoW, it's probably you. Believe it or not you were probably more enthusiastic than even me!

UnO: The lone voice of dissent on many things but we could definitely not find a better teammate than you. Maybe now that the game is over you can practice doing what I never did: backstabbing ND.

Panzer32: He might not be very active in DGs anymore but he was the first to challange GF's rule and as a result the team became more democratic.

Aggie: What can I say, we all miss you, hopefully one day you'll pop up around here and read about the victory which you above anyone else helped build.

FARB: Sneaky diplomacy, altered screenshots, fake wars, treaty loopholes. Such will your legacy be. You set the example, and we eagerly followed.

Ennet: Believe it or not we have warmongers as far away as Sweden!

Darekill: Sometimes I felt that you were part of my own team, that's how close the GoW-ND alliance was. A great diplomat, a great strategist and more importantly, an even greater human being, you were truly an honor to play with and I will always hold you and your teammates in the highest of regards. And if you're ever in Mexiko, I'm definitely buying you a beer or two (or three or four or five)

Zayxus: You and Aggie were the heroes of the Bobian War. And I greatly enjoyed chatting with you in the post-war era even if our teams were rather paranoid of each other at the time it was thinking long-term which made us get to where we got.

Zeri: I still can't pronounce your full nickname so suffice to say, you were a worthy successor to a long line of great Demogypticans and a pleasure to play with. And we'll be seeing each other again in the C3C ISDG hopefully

Bischop: You are a crazy lunatic warmonger. That's exactly why we got along so well!


All in all it was an excellent cultural experience for me to have worked so close with a team from another continent and with another language but who were just as trigger-happy psycho warmongers as us (perhaps even more). I salute you all. Now all I ask is... wo kann ich mein Deutsch "practice" jetzt?

Wow we wacky warmongers Won. Good game all. It was a real learning experience for me. I'd never played a multiplayer game before(unless you count the old civ2 hack) and before this had nver finished one. While I still play SP usually, I did learn many tricks and tactics that I have encorporated into my own strategies.

One AAR from me. One item that is often overlooked in the analysis of the bobian war is the importance of the few RP workers we captured. I believe it was 3. those three allowed us to build roads that allowed our armies to rush south(it was 2 turn trip with them), w/o them a 4/5, IRC.
If RP had disbanded these workers when they saw us in the south, we would have had to either borrow workers from nd or move them south. If this had been the case Alamo would NOT have held when the large GS forces pushed west. Just a little detail on how close the Bobian war was to turning out different.

btw, am I the only one having problems watching the end-of-game replay? I keep on clicking the play button and nothing happens. :/

Try waiting for 5-10 minutes after the screen loads before pressing play. It's buggy and pressing play too soon before it's actually ready can mess things up.

I actually haven't tried it out yet myself.
