If people are wondering, Antioch is on a hill, no? If so:
Any spears or Immortals there, if there are walls, have defense 4.5.
Pikes have defense 6.75
And then you have to take the inevitable promotions into account.
If any one is wondering, even if this is a 3-on-1, I would not right Aqua off too quickly...

On one hand you send your Dave out to spy and hinder the Horde war effort calling it "exploration" and protest when he is killed, while on the other hand you deny the same right of "exploration" to Babylon. The entire world must now clearly see what hypocrites you are. |
Yawn.....you guys are so intransigent.
O...k......let's try to explain it all again.......now are we all paying attention kiddies?
Ok.....you see, it's like this:
Our Warrior Dave was, like every other team's Warriors have done so in this game (and every other PBEM game in which I've played for that matter), exploring the map. This is quite a useful thing to do, because it takes away the dark patches on the map - I'm sure you kids have noticed that too.
Now, you seem to call such exploration "spying" and "hindering the war effort". I doubt that many regular Civ players would take such claims seriously. Dave the Warrior was simply travelling through formerly fogged areas and exposing the map for us. He was quite entitled to do that, just as your Scouts mapped our borders previously.
Following so far? Good.
Now, we have since learned that Babylon has joined an allliance against us. We believe that Babylon has Horseman units, perhaps many, and may wish to bring those units close to our borders. Clearly this is not exploration. Clearly this is aggressive intent. We are a peaceful nation, however aggressive intent shall be dealt with severely, as you have seen.
The strange Euphoricans claimed that their 3 Archers and a Spear were likewise just exploring innocently on our borders...all occupying the same tile mind you - a rather inefficient way of exploring, wouldn't you think? Guess what - they suddenly decided to stop exploring and attack instead. Wow, weren't we surprised!!! so surprised in fact that sufficient units were waiting to crush them as soon as they entered.
Now, if anybody would like to put up even a vaguely logical argument that is able to show that a single Warrior exploring uncharted map territory can possibly have anything to gain by aggressive intent, then I would be happy to continue this debate.
Otherwise, stop blowing smoke up each others' backsides!

I'd love to know where this information comes from. Right now we just have your rumors. BTW - horses move more than 1 space per turn. A very effective way to 'explore'.

They exploring units were close to obviously hostile lands. Maybe they didn't want to get lost or slaughtered. Good thing they stuck together. I could have been worse for the jolly bards.
