Something else I just remembered. When I was just a kid living in New Mexico, we had one of the first car air conditioners ever. I don't remember where it came from; I think maybe one of my dad's co-workers built it.

It was great sitting directly in front of them until those occasions when a small chunk of ice came flying out and hit us in the head. . I really do not mind the heat that much. I'd rather have it hot then cold outside.

Winter sucks, dry skin, no golf, etc. I'm much better off when it is 100, it really does not bother me to spend the afternoon on the golf course.

I grew up just across the border, listening to CHOM and playing hockey outside in January and February, as well as experiencing the summer heat and humidity. I then went from there to working in the deserts around El Paso: I can honestly say that the desert heat (and "insta-branding" from metal objects) was worse, IMO.
