I don't know if this is happening anywhere else, but I'm extremely weirded out. I'm really shaken up as I type this, and I'm trying to do it as quickly as possible. As soon as I post this, I'm packing up anything I can find and hauling ass to my mom's house a couple miles away in the city and out of this little ass town!
Usually, I take a walk around town in right after work in the afternoon just to take some of the edge off of my day. Normally, it's a very relaxing thing to do - especially in my pretty quiet town. Everything was totally normal until the road I walk by swings past the old Jehova's Witnesses meeting house.
There, I saw what looked at the time like the old man that owned the Texxaco station on Anderson Road stepping face-first into a wall over and over again. I had absolutely no idea why somebody would do this to themselves, so I yelled out 'Hey! Are you OK?', but he didn't even so much as turn around.
I stepped a little closer, and yelled again - still nothing. I walked up to him, and placed my hand on his shoulder. He swung around, grabbing my hand with his hand, which looked to me like he shoved it into an open bonfire for a half an hour. His face... it almost made my heart rocket out of my chest. His skin was blackened, and peeling off the bones, and his teeth were red with what I remember looking like battery acid.
I pulled myself free from his grip -- which was thankfully very loose. As I stumbled backwards, I screamed 'what the hell is wrong with you?', but he only stared at me with a saddened, distant look in his yellow, tired eyes. He was making groaning noises, and moving towards me as if he was hobbling like a penguin.
God, I took immediately to running down the street as fast as my gelatin legs could take me. I swear to God, I made the two miles uphill in less than five minutes - the adrenaline was coursing through my body like snake venom. All I could think of when I was running was all of those crappy zombie movies I watched when I was in my preteen years, and I couldn't stop.
At my house, I was struck with more worry than I had before when the screen door covering my front stoop was wide open, swaying violently in the wind. My screen door is NEVER open. Bolted my doors. Locked the windows. Took a shower and have decided to get out of here.
Where the hell is the rest of my friends? And why the hell isnt my cellphone/landline working? But the power and cable on? No mention of any of this on TV or the net. In fact half the channels arent picking up well. Some wierd ass things going on in this town man.
edit: I just talked to a friend on AIM who ran into the same kind of **** I am. Im going to pick him up.
There is no one on the streets.
