While the Siffan-Y dispute was resolved with a slew of memos and new intranet policy, Mr. Y's other business partners had neglected to updrage their wares.

An urgent message popped up on Y's phone: "war is beginning... call back every zig."

But it wasn't the Commies. It was a malfunctioning Colony I and Clone Point.

The malfunctioning scientist and the mad robot's numerically superior fleet pwnzored Mr. Y's empire in a crude display of force. Roughly a third of the fleets of these "allies" were lost in "friendly" fire.

CORRECTION:

Spaced and Spiffor shouldn't be fighting as allies. Their orders were for allied defense.

Reprocessing battles.... this sure is one mess of a round.

Should they be? I'd say they should fight as allies if they were both allied defending but wrong OOB from Jonny - but both had same OOB. Probably. But it's probably not clear

To make an allied attack you need to specify it, otherwise you fight separately. They didn't. They screwed up an allied defence. I think it is clearly in the rules.

They declared an allied defense of each other and Jonny.

Spiffor's orders were in later, so he fights first. The defense alliance is not activated with Spaced since Spiffor's bases aren't being attacked.


Anyway, Jonny lives, for now...

But the point still stands that allied-defend can only have one target.

IMO, it'd be like one person giving an order to attack two people, then choosing one based on what OOB they gave.
