problems with domestic advisor screen Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

I recently purchased a new Dell P4, 1 Gb RAM, Raedon x300 viedo card.

On civ3 conquests, I get a horrible blurry pink/purple font on the domestic advisor screen. All the other screens are fine, and all other programs I've used are fine.

Any ideas what might cause this?
Or how to manually change the font on the advisor screen?
I've already tried the uninstall, reinstall, doesn't help.

Support Apolyton

This is caused by the "ClearType" font smoothing option. Just change it to "Standard" when you want to play Civ and it should look like what you're used to.

To change the smoothing option, open up your Display Properties by right clicking on your desktop. Go to the "Appearance" tab, and click "Effects." (This all assumes Windows XP)
