I have to say, besides Lincoln he is possibly the most hated president in American history. Perhaps it is because it is late but I can not think of any president who has ever been hated SO PASSIONATLEY by so many people-not neccesarily a majority of Americans, but I doubt so many people have ever hated a president so much before.
THAT SAID..... I am still completley shocked the man is breathing!
Now that I would put a bullet into him but as far as we know, NO ONE EVEN HAS TRIED!
I am *SHOCKED* that after 6 years of this lunatics mistakes and all th anger he has generated, he has not been assasinated... no one even tried that we know about!
Who else is shocked that almost 6 years later, he is still breathing?

....unless the supreme court intervines? Come on MrFun, your a smart guy, you know between all the corruption, jerry(sp?) mandering and party politics, Americans really have little to do with our goverment.

LOL Slowwhand.
MrFun, it isn't about someone wanting to kill him for political change... I don't mean an organized group. I mean one really angry citizen taking him out.
I am surprised some really anti bush fanatic has not taken a shot at him by now.
Has there EVER been a president so hated in American history?
Maybe it is because it is late... but I can't think of one.
Reagans policies were worse, but was he as hated? Nope. He didn't involve us in any large military conflicts which are a pre-requisite for the level of rage needed.
I don't even think Nixon was as genuinley hated-his sleeze seemed distant to many people and did not draw actual outrage.

Wasn't there some guy who ran out onto the white house lawn in early early 2001 and started spraying bullets into the air?

The other factor is that gun enthusiasts are disproportionately Republican. To get past the Secret Service you are going to need either a huge amount of luck (individual assassin with a handgun) or you are going to need someone who can hit a man-sized target at I would guess at least 500 yards. That means a gun enthusiast, and one of the largest groups of people who practice that are those who shoot prairie dogs for fun, and the military. Neither group is that likely to produce an assassin going after Bush.
It also may be tempermental. The mindset for a truly successful varmint/bench rest/sniper includes delayed gratification, patience, etc. Those traits are going to make a person more likely to have a successful life, which is inversely proportional to your willingness to face the needle to kill the President, IMHO. So it self-selects, at the same time. Combining both factors makes it an outside probability, especially when you add in the Secret Service.

and it seems possible that voter fraud is going to give him a third term

Actually, it's sad. Surely shooting Bush would provoke a horrible outcry, and so on. But the truth is, he is just one man, and an action that kills many is worse. 9/11 killed three thousand, so it's three thousand times worse than shooting Bush.
Besides, I am of the opinion that Bush isn't even the most important man in the country. Sure he has the power, and everything, but he's not one of those men who are of amazing importance. There are scientists that develop outstanding technologies, and the most brilliant scientists are more important to the country than the president, IMO.

Sure, but don't forget that Bush is also THE symbol of
- The Great Satan
- Government Oppression
- Captialism (©Fez)
- Everything else that's wrong with the world
