I tried, but the filthy Nazis went to peace with the Russians. Then they turned off the oil spigot. I had no choice.

Its a damn fun scenario. Especially to guide a small, backwards nation to glory against the biggest titans the world has ever seen. I couldn't even build most units since they require oil and a nation's trade (French Trade, USSR Trade, German trade, etc). The Finns' units were.... not quite up to par with the rest of the world.

But with what limited resources I had I was able to take Sweden and Norway and then rush NE USSR to secure some Russian trade. Then I tried to ally with the Axis to get oil, but then they cut me off, so I allied with the Russians instead, and worked on getting my own source of oil, thus taking all of Africa & the mideast from the Axis (who had taken it from the Allies earlier). Once that was done, I built up my army a bit more and took all of Germany, France & Italy in short order.

Then I sat and built up for like 40 turns, cause the Soviets, who had sat out my war with the Axis, and already owned all of eastern europe and Turkey, just built up a terrifyingly large army. Hundreds and hundreds of tanks and snipers and such.

I couldn't compete, but at least I was smarter. Bombardment is huge in this game. I had like 150 bombers, and like 200 artilery, and whenever they sent a huge stack after me I just bombed them all down to nothing. Now I've got a larger army and I'm bringing the hurt to Russia. All while being a democracy too.

Anyhow, the scenario is cool. Lots of nice units for each nation (maybe too many, I dunno), its well balanced, and there are like 25 playable countries. The civilopedia sucks though, so prepare to be disappointed if you want accurate info on the crapload of new units.
