You know, the fact that this threat is supposed to be the gravest threat that we face during our time (Mister Bush reminds us of this EVERY SINGLE TIME he makes a speech), you would think that the organization he created specifically to deal with the threat, would be so in tune with what's going on, they would at least bother to communicate to the public the current threat level.

Obviously it signaled the American public hadn't made the disasterous choice on Nov. 2nd. (merely a horrible one). Hence the lowering of the code to yellow.

'Course if the Dems win the midterms and take a majority in either of the House or Senate one can truly expect the caution to be raised to red.

I really don't get the terror alert level. All the time it's elevated, which means "significant risk of attacks". That just scares people or, on the contrary, makes them ignore the warning. Nothing has really changed in the past few years, yes there were the 9/11 attacks, but there were groups who wanted to attack the USA before that and there are now, and they haven't gained much power after 9/11. Unsuccesfull though the USA is at capturing top al-Qaeda leaders, the constant pursuit by US forces plus the military operations are weakening the terrorists. So why is the threat of attacks "significant"?
