Am I the only french speaker on this forum ? I 'd like to find an as good forum as this one but in french, can someone help me ?

OK but it is not really a non-English threads... I 'm actually looking for good french sites about Civilisation, Alpha Centauri...

But I don't find an as good and as complete site as Apolyton...

I'm the notorious Frenchman here, and I've spent a bit of time on civfr.com. Nice community, with nice people. Had I not grown to love Apolyton already, I'd have happily spent my forumming time there.

However, I don't think it covers Alpha Centauri, but maybe you can have some discussions about it there. They also probably know other sites in the French-speaking scene.

But I strongly suggest you to remain here. Apolyton is a great community, and you'll make stunning progress in your English skills if you regularly spend time here

I tried to petition a french thread once but it was rejected. Maybe if a few people would ask for it.... I think they (the owners/mods) need to know that it can be moderated with some credibility. Anyway I tried once and that's because I know a lot of (digital) people here so the conversations would be more interesting between us. But unfortunately the effort didn't succeed.

There are a few French speakers here, but I don't think we're enough to spark the necessary interest that would make a French-speaking subforum lively (we're maybe 10-15, and we tend to be interested in different Civ games). The Spanish subforum is an exception, which dates back to the old times of Apolyton, back when it hosted a Spanish civ site (many local civ fansites are hosted independantly).

The Finnish thread is due to the fact that 50% of the Internet population anywhere is Finnish

Yeah, there's even a few Canadians who speak french here, and we were a part of the french Paiktis thread. The problem is that if they allow french threads, they would also have to allow all the other languages too.

There's one site whose forums I like, which is http://www.net4war.com/forums
It's a French site where you can discuss strategy games. It's very oriented towards wargames and the military, but also hosts a community of French Dominions II players (probably the French community). If you're interested in military history or wargames, it's an interesting place to look.

I agree with your opinion but it would be easier for some (like me ) to write in french, and it could bring here more people I think...
