Please try to keep the thread clean of unnecessary posts, although bumps are fine and appreciated.

The draft will officially start this coming Monday unless there is good reason to wait longer, and we'll start off
with 24 hour BAPAYs which will be adjusted downward if the draft goes too slow.

Kalius is up first and may pick before Monday which would get us going even quicker. If he does, Mobius will be up and may pick before Monday as well, and so on...

For the uninitiated, BAPAYs = best available player at yahoo. If someone doesn't make their pick by the deadline, anyone may go to our yahoo league page and using our league settings (is that O-Rank or the other?)
find the highest ranked player. When we get toward the middle and end of the draft BAPAYs become a bit more complicated since tradition requires us to find the BAPAY to fill a needed position and not start piling up players at 1 position, like BAPAYing someone 3 QBs while a RB position is unfilled.

Anyone remember what we have to click at yahoo to bring up the available players for BAPAYs?

Have fun...the draft is or should be an enjoyable part of the game, albeit not for the commissioner who will harass people who are slow.

Oh yeah, for each page we need to post the entire list of taken players for all rounds so people will know better who is available.

But please copy and paste the list of taken players for the current round and add your pick so the next person has an up to date listing of players taken in the draft.

Just bring up players and it lists them by Yahoo rating.
Can specify position also.

Yup, but there's an O-Rank and another rank and the difference is one is based on our specific settings. Thats how I remember it working, anyway, we need to BAPAY using the ranking system using our settings.

O-Rank is based on last season's stats ... Rank is based on this season's stats, which atm is last season's stats, plus yahoo's opinions to some minor extent (ie, an injured player is lowered in Rank, but not O-Rank.)

If I recall correctly, anywho.

Hmm, they changed it this year.

Projected = statshark projection (god only knows if it's meaningful to our draft or not... compare the ranks to a public league i guess?)
Actual = stat-based, but single-stat based if i read it correctly (as in pick-a-stat)...

Looks like if we use "Sort by -> Stats -> Remaining Games (Proj.)" it will filter based on projected FPs ... maybe?

Yup, in baseball leagues they have 2 ranking systems - one with last year's stats and another with last year's stats (and this year's stats once the season begins) that take into account our specific league settings. For example, there are TD heavy leagues where someone like Duckett or Bettis score disproportionally better than in leagues awarding a point for every 10 yds and receptions. We don't place the exact same emphasis on every stat used by those ranking the players at Yahoo. And I'd like to BAPAY from a ranking that does use our settings. But I don't see it

bump. hope that isn't unnecessary. I prefer to get the little dot on the folder for this thread. It helps me identify it faster, and reminds me I'm an active participant in this particular thread. (so I won't forget)

Though being 11th in the draft it will take me a while . I miss being 3rd of 4th.
