Hi, I'm completely new to the pbem, but looking for a 4 man game on TRANSCEND with no cpu.
Standard sized map
under 50% water
largely rolling rainy terrain
I'd like people to try to manage a turn/day.
I'm not very good (even against silly rubbish CPU) but I really don't mind what skill those who sign up are.

From my experiences I'll say that most of the people on this board are more than capable of easily destroying the AI on transcend level.
I usually get frustrated by turn 50 or so on single player transcend games because I'm so far past the AI that they all declare war or stop talking, and that gets boring. I believe that I in the lower tier of players on these boards, but having only played a few games since last October that's kind of hard to gauge.
Most PBEMs are done at transcend, and unless you get a CMN who specifically boosts the AI factions they will be the least of your worries. The best AIs pale next to the worst humans.
All that being said... I'd be happy to take one of the four slots. I'm interested in taking Morgan for a spin.
It's going to be best to ask for a CMN to hold passwords and possibly build (or at least do QA) a map that's balanced for play and fun. But at least hold passwords, so that when somebody disappears the game doesn't halt.

wasn't sure if I'd find anyone of my skill level. But I figure I should improve my game more while playing human opponents than the silly CPU. Look forward to playing with you Fosse.
I'd like to play Uni or Hive by the way.
P.S. Senethro loves haggis.

Count me in! I'd want to play as the Peacekeepers.
I'm also new to SMAX multiplayer. I can beat the computer on Transcend routinely, but I have never faced a human opponent. :-X

If the game is on trancend level (without AI's) I'd join, but librarian is too much of a difference (almost no drone problems etc).

Setroc, look in the AC G/H/S forum for help with the CPU compatibility with the new comp.
Additionally, I found in my first PBEM after one month that my skill had increased to such an extent as to make it painful to play with my noob start. If you're not capable of handling transcend now (but I've seen no reason to think that you can't in your save games) it will be a very short time until you can.
eruditehamster: Welcome to the fold. You're all patched and read up on the rules and buglist?

Buglist? I occasionally stumble across a bug in the game, but why is that important?
If by rules you're referring to some set of house rules that's observed by members of this forum, I'm not familiar with those.
Edit: I'm patched up.

Hey guys, thanks for showing an interest in my game. I don't mind playing on Transcendant, So if you guys fancy a game under these conditions, all we need to start is a CMN.

It'll give you something to do when the other game's turns are slow...
1 game in the beginning only takes like, uhm, 2 minutes every 2 days ?
But, I'm leaving on holiday in 3 days (till the end of july), so if you want the game started soon, I guess I'd better not join.

Bearhugger, eruditehamster, Sexroc and Fosse.
Bearhugger, just to give you an idea I was playing in 4 different "generic Xhumans +X AI" games (one of which sadly died). This is probably as many as I can respond to quickly during summer. Its your call as to whether you play or not.
Haggis is made from the wrong parts of the sheep.

so, convince me and ill join |
Well, I was having difficulty figuring out how to convince you to join, and in the end I decided to leave that to Robert Burns.
Ode To A Haggis:
Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o' the puddin-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy o' a grace
As lang's my arm.
The groaning trencher there ye fill,
Your hurdies like a distant hill,
Your pin wad help to mend a mill
In time o' need,
While thro' your pores the dews distil
Like amber bead.
His knife see rustic Labour dight,
An' cut you up wi' ready sleight,
Trenching your gushing entrails bright,
Like ony ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sight,
Warm-reekin, rich!
Then, horn for horn,
they stretch an' strive:
Deil tak the hindmost! on they drive,
Till a' their weel-swall'd kytes belyve,
Are bent lyke drums;
Then auld Guidman, maist like to rive,
"Bethankit!" 'hums.
Is there that owre his French ragout
Or olio that wad staw a sow,
Or fricassee wad mak her spew
Wi' perfect sconner,
Looks down wi' sneering, scornfu' view
On sic a dinner?
Poor devil! see him ower his trash,
As feckless as a wither'd rash,
His spindle shank, a guid whip-lash,
His nieve a nit;
Thro' bloody flood or field to dash,
O how unfit!
But mark the Rustic, haggis fed,
The trembling earth resounds his tread.
Clap in his walie nieve a blade,
He'll mak it whissle;
An' legs an' arms, an' heads will sned,
Like taps o' thrissle.
Ye Pow'rs wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o' fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
That jaups in luggies;
But, if ye wish her gratefu' prayer,
Gie her a haggis!
What any of this has to do with you joining the game, I will never know. But I rest assured that the eloquent charm of my country's greatest poet will leave you with no choice other than to buy haggis and join this game.

Great! I'd like to play Hive, so will you be playing believers? I don't mind taking uni for a spin if you really want hive.

A little clarification on some rules:
No building speeders from the probe team design.
All other reverse engineering allowed.
Vendetta is to be selected during probe operations.
Trade with other factions is only allowed when you see one of their units or base, or purchase their frequency from another faction.
Stockpile bug is allowed.
