Re: You KNOW you're living in 2005 when.... Put an end to popups!

1) you accidentally enter your password on a microwave
--never done this. i know the difference between a microwave and my computing device. after all, a microwave has no keyboard, just a keypad, and you can't really secure anything with just a keypad.

2) you haven't played solitaire with real cards in years
--nonsense, i play freecell with real cards all the time. and by all the time, i do it every few months.

3) thE reaL reason for not staying in touch with friends is that they don't have a screen name
--i've dropped aim. i tend to ignore pms, cell phone rings, and emails if i don't want to respond to them. the real reason i don't stay in touch is because i'm anti-social.

4) you'd rather look all over the house for the remote instead of just pushing to button on the tv.
--tv? who needs a tv when i have bittorrent and a laptop? besides, the tv doesn't have a remote, and all we do is use it for the ps2, anyway. or use the laptop's s-video output on it.

6) your boss dont even have the ability to do your job.
--she's a geek. she could do it.

7) you read this list, & keep nodding and smiling
--i've read it, and smiled, but i haven't nodded.

8) as you read this list, you think about sending it to all your
friends
--no. i don't send spam willingly.

9) and.. you were too busy to notice number 5.
--i noticed.

10) you actually scrolled back up to check that there was no number 5
--nope, i noticed it with my reply.

11) & now you're laughing at your stupidity.
--no again.

you know it's 2005 when you respond to silly lists that are supposed to be humorous, but are not. just like this post.

Never seen a tv that can't be operated without one, though it can be a pain.

You would have hated my grandmothers tv - it was equipped with tubes and took 10 minutes to warm up .

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I used to have an old black and white tv which would lose it's picture during every commercial break. It was weird it only did it with the commercial breaks.

So we'd have to go up (usually my brother made me do it) turn the dial to the right then back to the left to clear up the spirally lines. I forget what the name of that dial is. I think it helps to fine tune the channel or something.

we didn't even get a color tv until the 80's.

One of my friends has such a tv, except it turns off instead of just losing the picture

My parents had a tv a long long time ago (before remotes became a standard in tvs) which my father couldn't use. For some reason nothing happened when he pressed the 'buttons'... Flys had no problems changing the channel or turning off the tv though
