I don't know about the rest. Despite the stereotypical view of Texan arrogance, note *stereotypical*, lots of Texans I've met are totally cool. While they might have different mannerisms, they hold the same values I do, albeit in a different way. Honor, respect, that whole spiel...don't let the GWB blind you though. Actually, you became an independent state because the Mexicans wouldn't let you own slaves. So it would seem that Texans became "independent" precisely because they couldn't take care of themselves, and had to enslave other people to do the job.

The mexicans didnt have a choice int he matter to be honest. The folks if i recall came from the north because they were promised cheap land and could farm it at a profit. And if you want to research the history texas is rich in a lot of resources. Natural gas oil water etc.

I cant think of a state that i would want removed from the country. If anything I would have california finally split in half to make the south and north parts of that state hush.

Oh course they had a choice, and the exercised it. Mexico outlawed slavery. Y'all decided that if you couldn't continue to own other people, you were leaving. In fact, you're unique in the Western world in having left two different countries for the same ignoble reason.

Unless you're saying that Texas had every right to secede from Mexico because, once they outlawed slavery, Texans could no longer farm land at a profit. In which case, you're saying that Texans were either too lazy or to dumb to figure out how to live off a land rich in resources without owning other people.

Either way, there's so very much to admire...

Thank you for your frankness. I dont give a **** if he would have said that, its called i can jee i dunno ignore him. I have the abiltity to do that with out hitting a button on a computer. I forgot that that most of the time i am dealing with some folks that lack respect and manners. My Bad it wont happen again.
