Round 3
The prisoners, therefore, decided in a rather close vote to push Ben Kenobi over the wire to a bloody, perforated death.
Now with the whole murderer thing out of the way, it was time to plan the escape. While there no longer was mortal danger, it was no good sign that the Kommandant was trying to get rid of them like that.
The plan was simple: in complete cover and secrecy, a tunnel would be dug from beneath the barracks, across a the fence and a field nearby, ending in the cover provided by a dense forest. Extraction would happen at night in silence.
There were many details that needed to be ironed out. Should there be several tunnels for redundancy? How can it be dug in secret? Where does all the dirt go? And what happens after the prisoners are out, but still stuck deep inside occupied territory, far away from friends?
To arrange all this, the POWs needed two designated people: a Tunneler, who would organise the digging of the tunnels, a Planner, who would organise everything else. Snoopy369 had a background in mining coal, so he was given the task of arranging the tunnel (or tunnels). Spaced Cowboy had shown his administrative capacity in arranging supplies before capture, and was chosen as the Planner.
Jon Miller, who had a knack for a bit of everything, was the Jack of All Trades.
Theben was a tailor by trade, so he would scavenge all the material they had to create disguises to wear when trying to leave the country.
Gjramsey's shifty background gave him a talent at forging documents and papers - he would create their passports and travel permits.
Duke o' york was the senior officer of the lot. He liaisoned with the Kommandant, and would do his best to divert attention from the escape.
Skanky Burns could get rid of just about anything with as little attention as possible - he would be responsible for figuring out a way to get rid of the dirt.
Ljube was another shifty character, and his task was to snatch necessary things from the Germans - food, money, guns, booze, clothes...
DrSpike was the air force physician. While he had no direct role in the operation, his knowledge of things medical (and academic) could prove useful.
MrsTuberski was an interesting case. She was in fact a woman, but she was a spy. She was such a master of disguise, that no one on the camp found out that she was, in fact, a woman - neither did the Jerries. Nobody of the POWs knew her "true form", hence she was to help Theben with disguising the lot to increase the rate of survival.
Zopperoni was a Swiss diplomat who had been captured on the border, trying to smuggle dissidents out of the country to Switzerland. A brief international incident had surfaced, but both parties had suppressed it - Switzerland fearing a German invasion, and Germany fearing the mess they'd be in when trying to get through the mountains to a country full of men armed to the teeth. Switzerland, the word went, was very close to the Stalag, so Zopperoni's connections could prove vital to getting in over the border.
Jonny was the troublemaker of the lot. His role was important in the sense that he would always go about on wild stunts which would make the Germans put him in isolation (and throw his baseball at the wall. All the time). He could distract even the most observant of the guards when it was needed.
Tuberski managed all things mechanical, and he would have to design an air pump to keep the long tunnels ventilated. Or that was the plan, but the following morning, when work on the tunnel was just about to start, he was discovered in his room dead. Disturbingly, he had been garroted with a piece of barbed wire...
