Con, good suggestion. I just received a friendly email from Paddy concerning some PBEMs we are in. It gave me a great opportunity to ask whether his position of Khan was really shaky ... or if it was roleplaying.

Being that I'm very new to the Demogame stuff..and he's been bugging me to join for sometime now, I suspect he will just see my question as a friend asking a simple question to understand the environment.

Unless someone suggests differently, my second question (tomorrow) will be whether the war on DR will continue or if there is a change in Horde strategy. I haven't yet worked out how to ask that without being obvious....

Paddy confirmed on email that he is clearly the Horde Khan and all the talk about dissent in the ranks is all roleplay.

I decided to not ask the second question directly as he may suspect that I'm trying to pump him for information -- so I continued our email chat on other matters. I'll work the second question in...

To Paddy, the roleplaying is as important and rewarding as the strategy employed to win the game. He really likes spinning a great yarn. However...

I'm beginning to think that the role playing is actually part of their strategy to create subterfuge in order to fufill their objectives.

True. I do see that the TNA is as good as dead. It will fall apart between Eu and BOH mistrust. Some mistrust and accusations could come our way r/t the delayed Monarchy and Fuedalism transfers. But the biggest problem is between BOH and Eu.

When this happens. I propose that Babylon goes back to it original stance. Culture and science. Peace but if you cross us watch out. We should strive for friendships in all lands and try to stay nuetral.

...or when whichever civ shows up. We of course need a strong defense. But I argue for nuetrality because the politics of this game are crazy. I do not want to jump into another alliance that will fall apart before it even starts.

I'm guessing it will be the Horde first, but of course, you are correct. We need to defend against any and all. However, I don't think we should retreat from all politics.

It will be difficult to maintain a STRICT neutrality and an attempt to do so, could actually alienate some potential friends and ultimately make things more difficult in reaching our nation's objectives.
