I like the Disneyland Wonder idea, for a happiness modifier. If you build the thing, then the other people building it can still build it and gain happiness, but the first builder gets some money from the other civs that build it. You have to pay the parent corp...

And not nearly as much happiness as the original.

I propose the Red Light District improvement, or House of Burlesque.

And we could have another kind of "specialist" - one which increase both happiness (like an entertainer) and revenue (like a tax collector), but at the cost of increased disease. Living near Tampa, Florida I suggest the city improvement which allows this specialist be called the "Gentlemen's Club" (available with the tech "legalized prostitution"). More primitive versions of this improvement would be the "House of Ill Repute" (available from the very beginning - think about it) which increases happiness and disease; and the "Brothel" (only available in towns with population of 4 or more) with even more happiness, slightly less disease, some tax revenue, and a decrease in rate of population growth. The corresponding small wonders would be called "Red Light District" which doubles the effect of 'pleasure' improvements, and "Mons Venus" which puts a GC in every city with a population of 8 or more.

If it makes you feel better, when I went to Disneyland, I hated it. I also supported the local economy by eating only in local restaurants -- not inside the park -- and by staying in a non-Disney sanctioned motel. I also obeyed traffic laws. There is a rather absurd one, iirc, about pedestrians and right turns on red.
I should have gone to an Angels game.

This works for the pyramid kinda stuff. Only if two civs have not discovered each other can two civs build the same great wonder. Egypt and the erm, whoever built step pyramids in central america. Aztecs?
