It seems to be a feature of the modern media that violence and killing in films or TV is ok but sexual references or even swearing is not.

1. This is not about nudity, or sexual references, or swearing. If whats been discussed on Quarter to Three is true, its a fairly hard core mini game in which you participate.

2. Crime killing and loads of violence? I dont know, as i havent played it, but whenever its been discussed here certain people assert that its not all that violent, you can play as a good guy, etc, etc. I rather doubt that Rockstar will defend themselves by asserting that the violence is worse than the sex

The ESRB rules are that if you include content on the disk, youve got to tell them about it. Doesnt matter if its easily found. The question is intent, and reasonable limits. You CANT hold publishers responsible for every mod thats made, not without eliminating most moddability. You CAN hold them responsible for stuff that THEY code, and that THEY choose to include on a disk.

Ah, okay, well I agree with you about the fact that lawsuits should arise from non-notification of the ESRB.

BUT, if they had notified the ESRB, the game should not have been upgraded to AO from M because the content was locked/hidden.

And that's the extent of advisable legal action, as far as I'm concerned.

That's almost impossible if you're a bad driver It's very easy to hit and kill pedestrians by accident.

And in order to be a vigilante and stop crime, you have to first steal a police car.

That's pretty amazing. While that particular sex game looks fairly unhealthy to me, it's infinitely less so than the violence. I wonder why the sex would push back the minimal age more than violence

Not true. "Playboy: The Mansion" is rated "M" and it has similar things to what GTA: SA has (boobs and simulated sex without showing crotches).

That's why i don't really understand what all the fuss is about. The mainstream media seems to accept violence and mayhem in films and games but not nudity or sex. Considering the availability of sexual images everywhere in advertising, newspapers, internet, etc it seems an extreme reaction.

On a wider note though i've often wonderd about the lack of adult themes in games (excluding shooting people/aliens and so on). Leisure Suit Larry doesn't count but something like Vampire Bloodlines i think gained from having a more mature and darker approach if only because it's not so common.

are you talking about what GTA:SA officially has, or the hidden material unlocked by this mod?

Can't believe people are still arguing against this.
