	Apolyton 7: New Features: Members Photos, Buddies info & more Support Apolyton

Our 7th birthday is almost there and celebration begins with some new features for all users (plus related announcement in a separate thread)

The following have been implemented:

- Personal Photo: each user can upload a photo of himself. The photo appears his profile page and also on the all-members photo gallery

- User profile pages show the user's buddies

- A new [ q=User ] [ /q] quote tag is availiable for easier quotes with original poster info

- Posts are numbered within a thread

- Quicky reply forms include a "preview" button

We've got a couple more additions to be made during the week....

While the changes look good, wouldn't it make more sense for the User Profile pages show the user buddies to show those buddies on the users list rather then those people that have you on their list?

I would rather see the icons of those people that I have put on my list then the icons of the people that have put me on their list.

Most of the additions are cool, but why have you chosen for buddies to be displayed? In other words, what are the benefits achieved with it?

I don't really give a rat's ass, but I wonder what the thought behind it was.

The photo stuff is great. You may want to consider some sort of 'suggestion' against people uploading joke pics to the 'Poly gallery though. Already there are 2 non-pics from 5.

And your pic is really scary in comparison to others you have posted over the years.

for now we'll let people post non-photos.

if it gets out of hand in any way, there is a verification feature which will put the publishing of each and every photo under my artistic control
i'm sure noone wants that

About the buddy list in the profile, wouldn't it be better to show the 9 randomized posters (of who has him on their list) instead of the first 9 sorted alphabetically (sp?) ?
The current way I've got a high chance to show up on their list, while a poster called "Zebra" almost never gets show


I wondered when you created this hack, I saw it yesterday as it was 10 posters instead of the current 9, but I thought I had just missed some news about it

40% isn't out of hand?

There's no need to go through a laborious verification procedure. Just tell people they need to post pics or you'll send Ming to see them.

it was 10 originally (2 per row) but made it 9 (3 per row) when i added the photo....

I was certainly surprised to see all the people who have me on Buddy Alert- I didn't actually think that anyone used it- And as terrible as it sounds, I have no idea why 3 of the 14 even put me on the list- as I don't think I've exchanged more than 2 posts with any of those three... Oh well, I suppose they're just adoring 'fans.'

One suggestion for a new feature: MZO has a tool on every page (not just in Search) that let's you see all new posts in the past 24 hours... very useful, if you can do it.
