good point, perhaps that should have been a stipulation.

Civ was the original and will draw a larger audience, so of course they'll push that over SMAC2.
I always liked Civ better anyway

I liked smac, but for the graphics and the pathetic ai. the prototypical example of a game having so many features that the human can use but the AI has no clue, thus a walk in the park to win.

Nope, in my reality Colonization 2 would follow Civ 4. I don't need a follow up to Alpha Centauri.

Too much red, IIRC. Was just annoying to me.

thanks for the honest input.
I will definitely buy civ4!!!
But, I wanted to see how many CIV lovers long for a Smac 2. I am a CIV lover.
I'm wondering what made those who thought Smac 1 was worthwhile all of a sudden think Smac 2 wasn't worth the time...
Did Smac not do well in sales? |
I don't really see a lack of interest in a SMAC2. It looks to me like people would just like to see Civ4 first. That may be partly because of the exciting previews or just personal preference. Either way, I see good market potential for SMAC2 at Apolyton. We'll just have to wait and see if the rest of the game community will agree.

Civ IV definitely.
Its not that I'm not interested in seeing SMAC 2 (I loved SMAC and a sequel would definitely be a good thing), but...
1. I'm looking forward to Civ IV far more the more I see of it.
2. I'd like to see a Colonization II before SMAC II.
