Can we pull some strings too? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

We all know from the info as well as the screenshots that the AI can (like in SMAC) try to convert you to it's civic and religious preferences, but (unlike SMAC) can WE do the same to THEM? Can we make them convert to what we forsee as our values and idealogy?
