After extensive investigation I have resolved the problem...not too bad, providing your version of XP is up to date enough it will recognise that there is extra space on your hard drive. With the appropriate software you can extend your drive into that remaining area...I now get the full benefit. I thought I'd bought a 160GB HD, I was a bit confused when I didn't get all that room...

Usually the serial number of the hard drive is a dead giveaway...you don't even have to go to the BIOS for that, you can just go to System Information.

I am enjoying my 28GB of hard drive space. Actually I have only managed to fill 35% of it even without that much extra
