	Silent Hunter III Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I just got it, installed it played a short single mission and very sweet graphics, Ill get some screen shots out in a day or so

lol, my first mission ended when I lost track and surfaced and got run over by a destroyers

This is one of the first games I plan to get when I complete my new computer. I have the original silent hunter which I still play with dos-box. From what I have seen this game looks great. I just wish there was an option to play as the allies.

I'll get this game eventually. I'm really lazy about getting new games lately. I haven't got guild wars yet either.

Between laziness and my extreme frugality, I hardly buy games. Plus I find I'm disappointed with too many of them.

This is what happens when you detonate a torpedo magnetically a few meters under the keel of a ship:

Creeping into Gibraltar at night to thumb my nose at the Brits:





Sneaking into Scapa Flow (at day!) to sink a Fiji class cruiser.





Four torpedo spread. Just to be sure.







About three destroyers were immediately dispatched to the mouth of the harbour, but I managed to elude them and get home in safety.

None of the images are attached, they are all in my ISP webspace.

I personally prefer the Type IX boat. The only problem with it is that it has such a long range that it can be a pain to complete a patrol off the shore of NYC when you want to be hunting freight on the eastern Atlantic. On the other hand, it has lots of torps, and I have a habit of using a lot of those. So I usually just complete the patrol wherever it takes me, and do my best to hunt freight on the way back and as long as my fuel takes me.

One of these days I'll play further and get my hands on the Type XX, a REAL submarine. VII and IX are just torpedo boats that can submerge if things get tricky.

I use [img] [/img] tags. You put a direct link to the location of the image (like http://www.page.com/picture.jpg) between them, like so:

How's the difficulty on this game? Does it have different difficulty levels? I like to play fairly realistic, but I usually can't go on the highest realism level, or I get my ass kicked.

Several difficulty levels or in the game "realism" settings

very cool so far and no I havent had time to do much but blow up due to catching head butt from destroyers as I surface up under them sometimes

Grandpa Troll,

Great to see you've found the game too. I've had it for months, but haven't spared enough time for playing it, so it has been on hiatus. However from what little I've already played, indeed a nice game. Just remember to patch this game too, as there's lots of improvements and fixes. Otherwise you'll soon find out why the hydrofon and rainy weather will get on your nervs. So that's why I remind about updating.

Anyway, have fun!
