Our goal should be revenge, it should not be about us. It's about them. We will do whatever it takes to bring down our target of choice (or of convenience) to repay past betrayals. We do not care what happens to Babylon and accept that this may be the path to destruction, so long as we take someone with us should we fall.

Pragmatism

"I want my people to reclaim their rightful place in the galaxy! I want to see the Centauri Babylonians stretch forth their hand again and command the stars!"
We may be down but we're not out. Our goal should be to do what we need to keep open whatever chance we have of pulling things out and coming back to win the game.

Survival
"What do you want?"
"As long as my Homeworld's Babylon's safety is guaranteed, I don't know that it matters."
The important thing is Babylon itself. Our goal should be to stay in this game and keep our civilization alive, no matter the necessary costs and sacrifices.

Seriously lets be different for a change. So many times teams try to just hold on, when its obvious we have already lost and or there is no way to "win" any longer.

Lets go for revenge, pick a target, and make sure we do everything we can do to make sure they dont win the game even if we go down in flames.

Now that would be fun.

If thats what we want to do thats fine, as I said in the AM corrospondence thread, I dont care who we get back at. I just want to get back at someone, the goal being when we are done we make sure they can not win the game.

Yeah, seeing as we're getting our butts kicked right now, pretty much any goal means focusing on survival in the short-term. I'm wondering where we want to go long-term if AM doesn't eliminate us.

I was assuming that E_T was alluding to the fact that we could fake compliance now and before complying with all of A-M's demands, reverse course and counterpunch somehow.

In fact, if we are sure to lose a city, I think I would go for the "abandoning city" strategy Euphoria is using against BoH. It pleases me to no end seeing BoH's frustration in the public threads. hehe

Anyways, I voted for survival, because, we can't enact revenge, unless we are alive to atleast start it.....

Yes, We WILL have revenge, and I want it as badly as everyone else (esp, more so, as I had advised moving more units towards Barbs, thinking things were O.K with AM enough to trust them). As it is, I don't trust them to fully honor this "vasselation" as we had agreements, before this war.

I guess I should have been clearer about what I meant it to be for... as I said, survival is obviously the first step. What I'm wondering is what people want out of this game now. Is survival what we value most, is it the most important thing for the foreseeable rest of the game? If so, we should take the vassalization deal and hope to live out the game as the quiet, forgotten southwest corner of the map; so long as AM survives and honors the deal, that can probably be done. If pragmatism is what we value, we should probably try to repulse the attack using what little advantage we can squeeze out of the cease fire. If revenge is what we value, it's hard to say what to do next, but that opens up a whole different way of thinking about what we want to accomplish with our survival.

This is what I want, and I dont care who we get revenge from, but in all likley hood based on our current weakened state its probably just one CIV, speaking from a strictly realistic viewpoint.

Klo has already said he is losing interest in this game because of the way it went. Going the lets survive at all costs and vassalize ours selves to AM is just going to lead to more apathey setting in because well quite frankly we can no longer "win". Been there done that, Ive even got the T shirt

Thats why Im advocating "revenge". Lets set our sights on screwing someone and go out of this game in a blaze of fire.

Its different, revenge is a LOT of fun, and it gives us all something to work for other than being a biitch to AM.

That way while we are still playing maybe we will keep some interest, and this game may actually get fun for at least some of us once again.

Hi. Just got back. I have some research to do. Like find out just how bad things are. I'll assume things are aweful and that we are still friends with LB.

Let's get revenge. How?
Gift our gold and cities to Lost Boys.
Disband other cities.

I'd like Babylon to survive but it sure sounds like we are done.
