The police in Gothenburg, Sweden, might be the first in the world to train a dog to sniff for traces of semen at rape scenes. According to the article, semen is volatile, and loses its smell fast. The first attempt to find semen at a crime scene failed, but more eveluations will be done before a decision is made about the continuation of the method.
Now, there must be a million questions and spins on this topic:
- How, exactly, do they train the dog before they go to a real crime scene?
- What do you say to your colleague after the dog sniffed his/her crotch?
