The quip on US education on the matter was what I hoped would be avoided. I should have known better.
War on terrorism could count, since so many countries have decided enough is enough, but isn't really in the vein of the same circumstances.
It was also said there will always be war.
It's been written in the world's best seller, that there will always be war and rumor of war.
That doesn't constitute a global war though.
MY opinion:
Maybe somewhat surprising to a few pontificates, I'd say no.
BeBro hit on part of the reason I think not.
I don't think there would have been a II, had not Hitler's timing been so impeccable, and his methods so mad that they went unbelieved.
I also think that past experiences, the shrinking of the world through the media, and yes education, will serve to stave off such a condition.
One final opinion. Seems to me that while saying No could be considered avoidance of reality, saying Yes could be viewed as being prepared for it, so less might be done to avoid such a catastophe.
I'd like to hear more of your discussion.
The question is more than hypothetical.
