Historic Gaza pullout has begun

About time these parasites were finally given their marching orders!

Of course, in the meantime Israel is consolidating its illegal land grab in the West Bank by continuing to expand their settlements there and by blatantly grabbing a further 10% of Palestinian land with the building of their West Bank 'ghetto' wall - so really it is more of a pragmatic consolidation of their settlement territories than any sort of act of peace...

Still, the precedent is set - and that can only embolden international efforts to return the rest of the West Bank to Palestinian control...

Only a matter of time...

FYI this withdrawal has mainly come about from the well overdue change of Palestinian leadership and the relative stability the new leadership has brought about - i.e. people not blowing 'him/herself to hell in pizza bars and discoteques...'

Well, what is to say ? Israel has several times tried a peacefull solution but have got some bombs for their efforts.

After the death of that hopeless leader, it seems that the palestineans has chosen peace for war, but it will be a hard fight to eradicate those maniacs that prefer war.

If Israel had its way it would have slowly strangled Gaza and the West Bank until they made it part of greater Israel

Gaza is not some act of peace on Israel's part - it is a pragmatic consolidation. By loosening Israel's grip on Gaza, Sharon is tightening its grip on the West Bank! Israel's settlements were too costly to maintain in Gaza trying to protect 8,000 settlers from 1.4m Palestinians...

Did you those 8,000 people control 20% of the land in Gaza - much of the best land too? How can you knowingly say that what they did was anything other than an aggressive colonisation - that it is a terrible injustice!?
