	Please help! Converting BIC's to graphic file formats? Tired of ads?

I need to convert a custom map (huge) to an internet friendly graphical file format e.g. gif, jpg, bmp...so that it can be viewed on a website.

Can someone please advise me on how to do this??

Convert how? You mean you want a screenshot? Or a pixel map where one pixel=1 tile? Or what?

If you want it so that people can see what a map is like before downloading it, you could just take a screenshot of the minimap in the editor.

Ok, heres what I'm trying to do:

I'm playing an online poli-sci game called Nation States. I am our regions cartographer. I have made a map of the region complete with cities, roads, irrigation etc. It is a "huge" map, zoomed in far enough to see the map details and city names. I need to post a web viewable copy of the map on our website.

This map will never be played as a scenario. If I use screen shots, I will have to take 50+ of them and then piece the whole map together in Photoshop. This is a major pain in the butt.

I'm looking for a utility that will allow me to convert the map to .jpg, .gif, or .bmp.

Don't know what to suggest, other than zooming the map out first before taking those multiple screenshots.

Well, at least you didn't tell me to buy a bigger monitor before taking the screen shots. And yes, I have already contemplated doing this.

Actually, that's not a bad idea in reverse. I'm not sure what your comp is like, but on a video card & monitor setup I once had, I was able to go to much higher resolutions than my monitor could feasibly do. (It could do them, but things of course got tiny and fuzzy since it wasn't big enough.) If you can do that on your comp, a temporary resolution boost might help too.

You know, I've really been giving that some serious thought. I have a Radeon 9800Pro Atlantis video card with digital/s-video out and a new Sony 32" TV. Who knows, maybe I can get the whole damn map to fit.

I think I will try that sometime this week. I'll let you know how it goes.

In the meantime, if anyone knows of an easier way to do this, please let me know.
